Ouse Muse is Bedford’s very own poetry open mic. Taking place on the third Thursday of each month (except December) in the cellar bar of Harpurs.
The accent is on poetry but any short spoken word pieces are welcome. The atmosphere is friendly and the material eclectic – from classic performance thrash to finely poised sonnet, some laughs, some tears…. some incomprehensible. Sign up on the door from 7.30pm, the night starts at 8pm blunt, usually has a 20-30 minute drinks break and ends around 10.30pm. We make a small charge, £2 if you are performing, £3 if you are not, in order to cover the venue cost and leave a bit over for printing flyers.
